We believe in a no-nonsense approach to skin care. We work to serve the community and those uninsured. We provide free
charity care to clients of the Cabrini clinic, Detroit, MI. Our mission is to provide excellent care, excellent outcome, with
over 95% satisfaction on past surveys.
The customary charge for your visit is $60 prepaid for the first visit, and $50 prepaid for follow up visit. Scheduling
an appointment without prepaying will incur a $10 charge at time of visit, increasing the fee to $70/$60. This
is a simple cosmetic fee-for-service charge, and your doctor will usually apply the office visit fee to your cosmetic procedure
if your visit is brief, and problem focused. As long as the procedure is performed within the appointment time, your
office visit fee is applied to your procedure fee. Fees for Cosmetic Facial Mole Removal
Current
law require that all tissue removed from our patients must be submitted for pathology analysis. Usually this cost is
from $150 to $250 at hospital laboratory, unless you have laboratory insurance. Our patients are often surprised at
the outstanding result, at less than typical lab fees. We
offer complete mole removal fees including pathology and follow up usually $160 to $290 out of pocket, no
hidden or extra costs. We do offer discount for multiple moles. All anesthesia, laboratory, and follow
up visit included. You can subtract $80 from our fee if we use your insurance’s lab. Unfortunately, if it is not a covered benefit,
you are responsible for any fees your insurance's lab might charge you. Cosmetic consultation fee $60 (if prepaid), applied to your service fee if
performed on the same day. Blemish
removal is either free or minimal charge, as we do not have to perform laboratory testing. If you have a facial blemish, please read
on about what they might be, and how we treat them.
What is this "SPOT"?
A flat brown spot in sun-damaged skin is frequently a Solar Lentigo. Your doctor can freeze it with a q-tip and liquid nitrogen to cause it to peel.
The skin will heal with a pink to red color. This color will fade and blend in over the period of 1 to 2 months.
Our fee is $60 to freeze 1 to 5 lesions. We often waive this fee in place of your office visit. A rough brown raised spot is often called a Seborrheic Keratosis. It is often dry, scaly, chalky, or flakes like cardboard. Sometime it is
inflamed, slightly red brown in color and itches. They can resemble a skin cancer called a melanoma. They can
easily be burned off with a cold spray of liquid nitrogen, burned off with an electric current, or shaved off with a scalpel.
The end result is very pleasing for small lesions, but quite acceptable for even big lesions. Cost of treatment ranges
from $30 for 1 lesion, to $100 for multiple lesions. Surgical removal with anesthetic is more expensive. A small brown mole is often is a Dermatosis Papulosis Nigra. It is a very small dark variant of the Seborrheic Keratosis. It is often found on the face of dark skinned individuals. It is easily
burned off with a small needle with minimal discomfort with a cautery device. Our fee is $80 to $120 depending on the
number of lesions treated. We usually can treat it without anesthetic, although some people find a topical anesthetic
20 minutes before the procedure and minimize discomfort. Dome shaped to pin head shaped red to purple spots are often Cherry Angiomas or Hemangiomas. Most are smooth in their texture, but some can be rough or cobblestone in appearance.
They are easily burned off with little blemish with a small needle electrode. Most people require no anesthetic for
small lesions, while larger ones often need a small dose of injected anesthetic. Cost for treatment is from $60 to $120
depending on the number and sizes of the lesions. Small blood vessels on the face can be caused by sun damage, rosacea, or hereditary causes.
A few small vessels can easily be treated without anesthetic with electrocautery and minimal discomfort. Large mats
of telangiectasia can be treated with a vascular laser. Common moles on the face can be brown, pink, or flesh colored. They are
also called Melanocytic Nevus. They tend to grow and become larger with age. They can be removed by either
the shave method or the excision method. The preferred method is excision with the use of sutures or stitches under
local anesthetic. Cost can vary depending on the method chosen. The shave method is excellent for small moles.
The excision method is preferred for larger moles in prominent facial areas. Shaving of a lesion is about $60, and excision
can range from $100 to $200 per lesion depending on location. |
